Garden Workshop with Mary Buri, Founder of Mars Kitchen Garden

  • Post Road Studio 640 Old Post Road Bedford, NY, 10506 United States (map)

For those of us itching for a closer connection to the foods we feed ourselves and our families, a kitchen garden offers us the joy of growing vegetables, herbs, fruits, & flowers on a manageable scale. Whether you grow in a few pots on the patio or in several raised beds, planning ahead reduces overwhelm and increases success.

For this special Fern Hill Project Garden Workshop, Mary will share the planning method she uses in her clients’ gardens and her own. We’ll cover: deciding what you want to grow, with companion planting in mind; creating a planting timeline that maximizes cool and warm season harvesting; determining planting methods—direct sow vs. transplant; drawing a crop layout with key considerations in mind; sourcing seeds and starter plants; soil prep & planting day tips.

Cost of event is $25 and includes coffee, light bites and a pack of starter seeds to take home.

About Post Road Studio:

Post Road Studio was launched in October of 2021 by Bedford based Kirtley Cameron as a well organized but informal shared work space for full or part time use. The intent is to provide a great, flexible space in the heart of Bedford Village where people want to come work, meet clients, do a quiet zoom call - or just get out of the house.
